Hello, I am a student attending IHM. From going to art classes here, I have developed a lot of new skill and interest for art. The main focus of my art is nature. I feel that soon, nature will be nearly gone because of the abuse it takes from humans every day. I think that humans do this because they don't know what they're wrecking and how beautiful it really is. So I try to show, through my art, how beautiful nature and other animals that inhabit it are. I have started an animal series recently that includes a deer, turkey, and a bear. The thing that is interesting about these is that they are all dead and mounted. They also have a yellow background to make them really pop or jump out of the picture. The reason they are dead is so people realize just how much of a effect the have on earth. I hope to soon paint a coyote and be done with the series. I also have a series going of art cards. They have been doubted and criticized because they do not show real images but my thought is why does art have to have deep hidden meanings? Can't it just be something that you think looks cool? My answer is yes, art doesn't need a hidden meaning. |
